Robert Sinskey is longtime favorite Napa Valley winery of Tannin staff and guests. This iconic winery produces wines in a wide variety of styles; the robust and complex Bordeaux varieties that Napa is known for as well as the elegant coastally influenced Pinot Noirs of Carneros. But Mr. Sinskey has also had a longtime passion for Alsatian style wines which inspired him to make perhaps California’s most distinctive Pinot Blanc as well as an Alsatian style field blend. Many of our guests have discovered Sinskey wines through the brilliant whole cluster Pinot Noir rosė, a truly intentional and inspirational wine that played a major role in the renaissance of high quality rosė winemaking in the U.S. 

 Chef Brian and Chef Tom are putting together a dynamic and delicious menu to match the range, flavors and textures of these stylish wines. Fortunately, these wines truly lend themselves to pairing with our cuisine, with their fresh acidity, natural elegance and harmony.

On Thursday, May 16 we’ll be offering a special edition of Rare Wine Thursday featuring some tremendous grower Champagnes imported by Grand Cru Selections. Three key stakeholders in Grand Cru will be on site at Tannin (from 7:00 - late or so) to share the stories behind these remarkable wines. We’ll be offering everything at special prices by the flight ($30 for 3 wines), glass or bottle. Chef Brian and Chef Tom will be offering some special food pairings to complete the experience!

Join us on the Sunday afternoon before Memorial Day for our annual Rosé Tasting to support Susan G. Komen. This event is always one of the highlights of the year at Tannin, with a room full of delicious rosé wines (35+ wines included in tasting) poured by some of Kansas City’s top wine professionals. This casual, walk through tasting highlights the diversity and range of rosé wine produced around the world, paired with light hors d’oeuvres and supports a great cause.
