Tannin Wine Bar is excited to welcome back our friend Tom Monroe, co-founder of Division Winemaking Company in Portland, Oregon for our first wine dinner of 2019! Division Winemaking turns 10 years old this year and we’ll be celebrating with their very limited Winter 2019 releases. Over the last decade, Division Winemaking (a winery, custom crush facility and wine bar in Portland) has established itself as one of the most exciting wineries on the west coast. Division has proven itself to be one of the top producers of Willamette Valley Pinot Noir while at the same time turning heads for the variety of grapes and wines styles that can thrive in the Pacific Northwest. In addition to these classic Pinot Noirs, Tom and his partner Kate Norris, have become known for many of the grape varieties that they initially worked with during their stints in Beaujolais and Loire France:

Gamay Noir, Chenin Blanc and Cabernet Franc. In particular Gamay Noir, best known for the fruity, mineral wines of Beaujolais has proven to be very exciting in the cellar at Division. In spite of being a very small producer, Tom and Kate have actually become the largest producer of Gamay Noir in North America. Their work has inspired more Gamay plantings and increasing interest from larger wineries in the variety, but their work has also remained true to the vineyard sites and sense of place that are unique to their wines. We look forward to Tom sharing that sense of place on this special night with a
menu prepared by Chef Pablo Munoz-Sevilla to match these lovely wines! As always, we are happy to accommodate any known dietary restrictions for the menu. Please let us know in advance when you reserve for this date!
